HIGH ROTATION CDS

WHEN WE RECEIVE CDS AT WVKR, THE WORLD MUSIC DIRECTOR DECIDES WHICH ONES SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE HIGH ROTATION PLAYLIST BASED ON COMPATIBILITY WITH THE FORMATS OF THE WORLD MUSIC SHOWS. THESE CDS ARE GIVEN PRIORITY BY DEEJAYS AS THE STATION HAS A REQUIREMENT THAT EACH DEEJAY SHOULD PLAY AS LEAST TWO CDS PER HOUR FROM THIS LIST DURING THEIR SHOWS. AFTER 4 MONTHS, CDS ARE GENERALLY NO LONGER CONSIDERED TO BE NEW AND ARE THEN FILED IN THE WVKR LIBRARY. THE CDS LISTED BELOW ARE CURRENTLY ON THE HIGH ROTATION PLAYLIST.

 TajWeekes-LoveHerb (1) 12] TAJ WEEKES~LOVE HERB & REGGAE. ADDED IN FEBRUARY.

Reggae, particularly from the place of reggae’s birth, has been notorious for its murderous anti-gay lyrics. In 2007, gays fought back & surprised the attackers who thought they were an easy, defenseless target who had no allies. The boycott they started affected not just $$$ of the murder artists, but more broadly, Caribbean tourism. Even other Caribbean states such as Barbados, banned murder reggae “artists” from touring saying that the “artists” caused their youth to be aggressive. And now, we have a reggae singer brave enough to compose & record a song AGAINST homophobia & killing. A small evolutionary step towards civilisation & a higher humanity. He deserves plays. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01APVWGXW?ie=UTF8&keywords=taj%20weekes%20love%20herb%20and%20reggae&qid=1455592904&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
